Full rehearsal held today for 15th Agong's installation ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR: The full rehearsal for the ceremonial installation of Sultan Muhammad V as the nation's 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara today went smoothly with preparations almost completed according to schedule.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said the rehearsal was to identify any necessary improvement and rectification prior to the event on Monday.
"Alhamdulillah, the full rehearsal for the installation ceremony went smoothly. As we know, this is a very significant event in our history, we must strictly adhere to tradition.
"I was entrusted with overseeing the task and Alhamdulillah with the cooperation of government staff and the istana, we can be sure that everything will go well," he said after the rehearsal at Istana Negara.
Salleh who is also Installation Ceremony Committee chairman said the event would be telecast live on Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).
Sultan Muhammad V took his Oath of Office last Dec 13 and will ascend the throne as Malaysia's 15th King on April 24, replacing Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah whose rule ended on Dec 12 . — Bernama
