SRS helps police prevent crimes, promotes unity among residents: Perlis MB

ARAU: The involvement of residents in the Voluntary Patrol Scheme (SRS) in housing areas and villages has helped to prevent crimes, says Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.
He said SRS members are now the seen as the eyes and ears of security forces in reducing the burden of police to tackle criminal activities.
"The setting up of SRS by the National Unity and Integration Department (JPNIN) is the best measure to reduce the crime rate in a certain residential area.
"SRS is a voluntary patrol service to assist police prevent crimes by increasing the frequency of surveillance in the community," he said.
He was speaking to Bernama after speaking at an SRS Patrol programme in the Arau parliamentary constituency at the Arau Public Housing Plan Square here last night. — Bernama
