TASEK GELUGOR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said anyone who formed a new party and tried to create a three-corner fight in the next general election is a supporter of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
He said PPBM preferred a one-on-one fight between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election.
"If there is someone who formed a new party and have the intention to create a three-cornered fight, he is a supporter of Datuk Seri Najib," he said during a press conference after a meet-the-people session at Pokok Machang Tasek Gelugor on Sunday.
The usually quite road in the rural village of Pokok Machang saw thousands of people throng the remote village to catch a glimpse of the former prime minister.
Hundreds of food stalls also were set up along the route leading to the event location.
Mahathir also spoke on claims there was political fatigue in the country and said this was not the case, judging by the turnout at PPBM talks.
Beside Mahathir, other speakers at the event were PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Amanah vice-president Husam Musa, Penang Bersatu chairman Marzuki Yahya and Datuk Seri Mohd Shariff Omar, who is PPBM state deputy chairman and Tasek Gelugor division chief.
