IPOH: Perak Wanita DAP wants extra seats to be allocated to the wing in the 14th General Election.
Its chief Lim Pek Har (pix) said they want more representation from women as there are only two assemblywomen presently.
"We have yet to submit the candidate list to the party's central committee for approval ... all members are capable," she told reporters at the Perak DAP Convention here today.
"The wing hopes the leadership will consider our request especially after the redelineation exercise," she added.
According to Lim, there are some parliamentary constituencies with a high number of voters.
She cited Batu Gajah parliamenty constituency as an example which has 80,000 voters, which is unfair to the opposition as compared to BN-held seats with 30,000 or 40,000 voters.
She proposed that the constitutency be split into two seats or another state seat created to make it four seats.
Lim who is Menglembu assemblywoman and Pantai Remis wakil rakyat Wong May Ing are the two DAP women elected representatives in the 59 state assembly seats.
