KLANG: The 18 suspects detained last week for alleged links with criminal gang, Gang 24, will spend three more days in custody after a remand extension was granted by the magistrate's court here today.
Magistrate Nor Asma Ahmad granted the police a remand extension when the 18 were taken before her in the morning.
The extension will enable the police to investigate the incident under Section 143 of the Penal Code for unlawful assembly.
The group, aged between 16 and 25, of which 13 were minors from SMK Sri Andalas, also comprises some who were working as mechanics and security guards.
Meanwhile, Nor Asma also ordered 11 students of the same school, aged 15 to 16, who were arrested on Friday to be freed after finding the police's investigation diary to be incomplete.
Lawyer Dinesh Muthal represented the 11 students.
The arrests came after two separate videos showing a group causing a commotion in front of the school went viral on social media on Thursday.
Those in the clip were seen holding banners; one bore the letter "24", "TD4" and a black swastika.
In the first video, which lasted more than one minute, the group was seen shouting and revving their motorcycle engines outside the school.
The second video showed a close-up of a cake with a picture of a man in native American headdress and words "SMK Sri Andalas", "24" and "Apache" written on it.
