Canada urged to shorten visa processing time: Anifah Aman

PUTRAJAYA: Canada has been urged to seek solutions to shorten visa processing time for Malaysian citizens, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman.
Anifah said at present visa application submitted to the Canadian visa office in Singapore to between 10 to 14 days.
"While we do understand Canada's laws and policies, I urge them to find a solution as (Malaysian) businessmen cannot wait that long (for visa approval)," he told reporters after receiving Canadian National Defence Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan at Wisma Putra, here, today.
Harjit who is here on a three-day visit in conjunction with the port call of two Royal Canadian Navy frigate, HMCS Ottawa and Winniped at Port Klang also visited Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein at the Defense Ministry.
Both Hishammuddin and Harjit said their respective governments should collaborate more on peacekeeping efforts on the global stage.
