PETALING JAYA: Kian Joo Can Factory Bhd is looking to boost its exports market, as it is seen as vital for revenue growth.
Given the current economic conditions and with local players focusing more on the domestic market, CFO Ooi Teik Huat is of the view that the exports market is a key revenue booster.
Its trading division based in Singapore holds the mantle towards growing its exports.
"Now that we have a presence in Malaysia, Vietnam and also Myanmar. For exports markets, we want to have a certain level of flexibility so the Singapore trading company will be the window to accept offers," he told reporters after the group's AGM here today.
Kian Joo's exports contributed about RM250 million of its total revenue, which was at RM1.71 billion in 2016.
The group currently exports tin cans, aluminium cans, contract packing and carton boxes to countries in Asia and Europe.
