Security guard fined RM1,000 for making false police report

KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard was fined RM1,000, in default two months jail, by the Magistrate's Court here today for making a false police report.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som handed down the sentence on Muhamad Ajrun Mohd Zainol, 19, who pleaded guilty to the charge.
The report was about seven or eight men being robbed in front of a restaurant, which he knew was not true, prompting the police to conduct an investigation.
Muhamad Ajrun was charged with committing the offence at the Dang Wangi police headquarters at 10.06 am last April 14.
The charge, under Section 182 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to six months, or maximum fine of RM2,000, upon conviction.
Muhamad Ajrun paid the fine.
