2017 Taiwan Fellowship takes application from May 1 to June 30

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2017 Taiwan Fellowship, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), will accept applications from May 1 to June 30.
Experts and scholars from Malaysian government, think tanks/research institutes or universities are encouraged to apply for this fellowship to conduct their researches in Taiwan's universities, colleges or research institutes between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2018.
The fellowship is open to all the research fields. Research subjects related to Taiwan's current foreign policy such as its participation in regional economic cooperation, the enhancement of global and regional connectivity, New Southbound Policy and security issues of Asia-Pacific region will be highly recommended.
The duration of the fellowship ranges from three months to one year depending on the candidate's research proposal.
The fellowship package covers a monthly stipend of NT$50,000 or NT$60,000 (about RM7,200 or RM8,600) and a round-trip air ticket.
Applicants are required to complete the online application at Taiwan Fellowship website (http://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw) as well as send a copy of their applications with related documents by post to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia (TECO, Level 7, Menara Yayasan Tun Razak 200, Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur).
