SHAH ALAM: "Ampal masak merah Banjar", "gulai itik hijau nusantara" and "kepala ikan pindang lampung" are among the more than 100 special dishes available at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) during Ramadan.
Themed "Archipelago Heritage Tastes", the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) subsidiary company still retained the traditional "kambing kebuli" dish as it was often the main focus of customers since it was introduced several years ago.
Also served were bread with "sup periuk utara", "Lontong Selangor", "daging rendang Minang", "ayam bakar bumbu Bali", "ayam Kalio Minang", "kari kepala ikan Nyonya" and 19 other other stalls which prepared numerous traditional cakes, fruits and desserts.
SACC general manager, Nasrudin Abu Bakar said the theme was picked again this year at the demand of customers since they were introduced in 2015.
"Last year, we had the Minangkabau dishes concept but our customers requested the archipelago tastes theme again.
"Despite the uncertain economy since lately, our buffet is priced the same as last year's, namely, RM88 for adults and RM48 for children from aged seven to 10 years while it is free for children under six years old," he told reporters at a preview of the SACC Ramadan Buffet here today.
According to Nasrudin, in conjunction with Ramadan, customers had the opportunity to break-the-fast and perform charity at SACC as RM1 of the prices of the buffet would be contributed to the 'Rescue Syria' fund.
He said the effort, which was carried out with the Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organisation (Mapim), targeted to collect RM12,000 during Ramadan.
"We are always concerned at the difficulties of the Syrians and as such SACC invites the public to break-the-fast and perform charity at SACC at the same time," he said.
An early buffet purchase promotion is being conducted at RM78 for adults and RM38 for children now and bookings can be made via www.sacc.com.my/bufet-ramadan-2017 or by contacting 03-5511 8858.
Every early booking payment must be paid before May 27 because the normal prices of RM88 for adults and RM48 for children will be enforced after that date and during Ramadan.
For corporate clients, the corporate package starts at RM70 with the minimum number of individuals at 50 people and a special space will be provided by SACC. — Bernama
