Tampin police nab two brothers believed to be drug pushers

TAMPIN: Two brothers who work as labourers, were arrested by the police last night on suspicion of drug trafficking around the district here.
Tampin District Police chief Supt Hamazah Ab Razak said the two brothers, aged 22 and 26 years, were detained by police personnel from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division in a hotel lobby in the district at 11.30pm.
"A check on both suspects found five transparent plastic packets believed to contain heroin weighing 5.76g, one packet of transparent plastic and straw tube with syabu weighing 0.43g and two tubes of straw with 0.26g of heroin.
“The two suspects were also tested positive for drugs and are suspected of actively involved in drug trafficking since six months ago,” he said a statement here today.
He said the two brothers would be remanded until tomorrow under Section 39A(2), Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — Bernama
