Agong officiates 'Pameran Raja Kita'

KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan Muhammad V has opened Pameran Raja Kita (Our King's Exhibition) at the Royal Museum here in conjunction with his installation as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
His Majesty was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the ceremony.
Sultan Muhammad V struck a gong three times to symbolise the launching of the exhibition which is open to the public from tomorrow until Sept 4.
It displays a personal collection of Sultan Muhammad V including Al-Quran, rehal (book rest), diving sets, archery equipment , polo horse saddles and recreational bicycles.
Apart from the King's private items, the original manuscripts of Misa Melayu, Taj Al-Salatin and Sejarah Negeri Kelantan are also put on show.
The exhibition comprised four segments namely the conventional exhibition of texts, posters and artifacts as well as a video presentation of the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong's installation ceremony.
There is also a touch screen kiosk on the various regalia of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as well as virtual reality shows carried out with cooperation of Communications and Multimedia Ministry in the form of 3D and walk through at the old Istana Negara.
Also present were Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
The exhibition is held for the second time at the old palace, now known as the Royal Museum.
The first exhibition was held in 2012 in conjunction with the installation of the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.
On April 24, Sultan Muhammad V was installed as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong for a five-year rule.
He had earlier taken his oath of office on Dec 13 2016 to replace the Sultan of Kedah Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah who completed his term on that date. — Bernama
