PAS has alternative plan if it cuts ties with PKR

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS has its alternative plan to move the party forward in the it decides to sever its tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation) with PKR.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan (pix) said as an experienced party, decisions on its future plans would go through a thorough study and research process.
"We know what we are doing. We understand and study it. We have various plans when we take any political actions," he said.
"We do not simply make decision on a particular matter, but we will take the issue into consideration carefully," he told a press conference at the party headquarters today.
PAS in its recent Muktamar (annual general meeting) had passed a motion to cut its political ties with PKR, triggering a political deadlock rumours in Selangor as both parties were part of a coalition government in the state.
However, only the Syura Council, PAS' highest decision-making body has the final say on whether a motion comes into effect or not.
Takiyuddin said the Syura Council had not set any specific date for its next meeting, and added that the meeting would only be decided by party's spiritual leaders and the council's members.
He also hinted that the PAS central committee meeting that would be held next month might touch on the current political issue, including its position in the Selangor government.
