Umno-PAS cooperation strengthens Malay unity: Mustapa

JELI: Unity among the Malays is now stronger with the informal cooperation that has been forged between Umno and PAS, Kelantan Umno Liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said today.
The Umno Supreme Council member also said the cooperation had also made PAS members more affable towards Umno as they no longer played up on issues like calling Umno members as "kafir" (infidels) and boycott them.
"I believe Muslims are beginning to realise the need for them to unite, and with signs showing of the cooperation between PAS and Umno, it gets stronger," he told reporters after opening the 4th convocation ceremony of Jeli Polytechnic here today.
A total of 136 students in agro-technology and aquaculture received their diploma today at the ceremony which was also attended by its director, Wan Azlan Wan Ismail. — Bernama
