PETALING JAYA: Malaysians who have registered themselves as voters between January to March this year are now able to check their voting status from 960 exhibition centres set up by the Election Commission (EC) nationwide.
EC secretary Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh said in a statement that the exhibition would be held for 14 days, beginning May 9.
He said between January to March this year, the EC had received a total of 326,905 voter registration applications.
He added from the total, 242,691 applications were from newly registered voters while another 84,214 were applications to change their electoral address.
Abdul Ghani said the exhibition was made in line with Rule 13 of the Election Regulations (Registration of Voters) 2002.
He said voters could file a claim to EC if they found out that their names were not listed as registered voters.
The public can also access the EC's official website at www.spr.gov.my to check the name list.
