Current Selangor exco line-up to remain until GE14

SHAH ALAM: The current exco lineup in the Selangor government will remain, at least until the next general election, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
In dismissing talks of a possible reshuffle in the state's administration, he said any changes in the government's current composition could only be made with the will of the rakyat as they have given the mandate in the previous general election.
He said the people of Selangor had voted in the then Pakatan Rakyat government to govern the state and to work for them and not to see political parties bickering among themselves.
"The mandate is clear. Did they say in the ballot paper that the mandate (was only) for three months? Certainly not.
"I have a duty to carry out that mandate. It is not about my choice. I am not in the position to choose but they made the choice in the last election and we have to respect that democratic process," he told reporters after attending a government function at the Shah Alam Convention Centre today.
Talks of political instability in Selangor grew after PAS, in its recent Muktamar, passed a motion to cut political ties with PKR, despite both parties leading a coalition government in the state.
However, only PAS' Syura Council, the party highest decision-making body, has the final say whether to accept the motion or not.
Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, Ahmad Yunus Khairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib are the three PAS representatives currently serving in the Selangor government.
Mohamed Azmin said there was a need for all opposition parties to sit down and discuss on resolving issues among them.
"We must have humility to sit down and discuss. There are differences, yes, but I think it can be resolved through consultations, discussions and consensus," he said.
