GEORGE TOWN: Police uncovered a drug processing laboratory in Sungai Pinang and raided another premise in Butterworth.
They seized narcotics worth RM2.2million.
State police chief Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye said two men and a woman were detained in the anti-narcotics raid carried out on Monday.
He said a 52-year-old man was caught at a condominium's parking space in Tanjing Bungah about 9.15pm on Monday but no drugs were found on him.
He said the man then led the raiding team to a house in Lebuh Sungai Pinang an hour later after further interrogation.
From there, he said, a drug lab was smashed and various narcotics found from the rented house.
Chuah added another similar operation was carried out the next day and a 46-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were held at a house in Butterworth at 1.15pm.
"All of them have been remanded until May 15 under Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, " he said at a press conference.
