KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd said there is “quite a lot of demand” for listing amongst the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and anticipates “a quite strong pipeline”, once the new board catered to these enterprises come to force.
“We do see quite a strong pipeline to come on to the new markets. The advisers have also started working with these companies as well,” the stock exchange operator’s chief commercial officer Selvarany Rasiah said.
Once these frameworks has been issued, we will see more applications for listing,” she added.
The listing expenses for this new board will be much lesser than the existing Main and ACE Markets, along with less documentation.
It will only be made available to sophisticated individual investors and companies with net asset value of RM10 million and above.
Selvarany said details of the new market is still being finalised and Bursa Malaysia will make an announcement once it is ready.
It was previously reported that the new market will be rolled out sometime in the second quarter.
