Cops initiate investigations as video of rape and robbery at gambling outlet goes viral

    PETALING JAYA: Police have initiated an investigation into a viral video of a rape and robbery incident which allegedly took place in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong.
    In the incident, two unidentified men entered a premise which looks like an illegal gambling outlet with the intention to rob the outlet.
    After robbing the place, the duo also took turns to sexually assault the cashier in a hidden corner of the outlet.
    Closed-circuit Television Video (CCTV) footage of them taking turns forcing themselves on the victim has went viral along with photos of the alleged suspects.
    The four-minute video prompted netizens to call on authorities to punish the suspects for their crime.
    Serdang district police chief ACP Mohd Megat Mohammad Aminudin Megat Alias said he has yet to receive a report of the incident.
    "We will look into the authenticity of the video," he said.
    Mohd Megat said a taskforce has also been set up to identify the victims, suspects and the scene where the incident took place.
    "We hope the victim and the owner of the outlet will come forward to help with our investigations," he said.
    He also advised the public to stop all speculation and to stop spreading the video any further.
    "Anyone with information on the incident should provide that information to us at any police station," he said.
