SUBANG JAYA: Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh today lodged a police report regarding a Facebook post titled "Hannah Yeoh Contoh Hipokrasi Terbesar DAP" that appeared on an individual's account, Kamarul Yusoff.
"The Facebook statement has become viral and shared by more than 252 people. The statement also has appeared in 10 news portals and has been manipulated. It contains malice content against me and DAP.
"The Facebook content which states that DAP actively mixes elements of religion and politics, especially Christianity, is false. My book, titled 'Becoming Hannah', is my personal biography and does not concern the elements mentioned. It does not reflect DAP's principles and struggles directly or indirectly.
"Therefore, those individuals who have alleged that DAP's struggles is based on some contents of my book is baseless and irresponsible," she said in the report lodged at IPD Subang Jaya here.
Speaking to reporters later, she expressed disappointment that such statements had been made.
"This book records my personal journey as a young Malaysian discovering my love and responsibility for my country and struggles of running a political campaign.
"This book also documents my marriage and new role as a wife and mother. This is why it is called 'Becoming Hannah' and not 'Becoming DAP' or 'Becoming a Christian," the mother of two said.
Gobind Singh Deo will handle the legal aspects arising from the incident.
