KUALA LUMPUR: A technician, who is already serving a seven year jail term for a terror related charge, was jailed another seven years for another two charges, including pledging loyalty to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, by the High Court, today.
Bukhori Che Noor, 35, was jailed seven years for each of the two offences, after he pleaded guilty. However, High Court judge Datuk Paduka Azman Abdullah ordered the accused to serve his sentences concurrently, from the date of his arrest, on June 30, 2016.
In the first charge, Bukhori admitted giving support by pledging or pronouncing his loyalty to the IS terrorist group through the “Telegram” application called “black crow”.
He is alleged to have committed the offence at Desa Putra Persiaran Bayan Indah 3, Bayan Lepas, Penang at about 12.44am on March 30, 2016.
In the second charge, Bukhori admitted to giving support to a terrorist act, involving explosives, between March 25, 2016 and June 30, 2016, at the same place.
According to the facts of the case, Bukhori had said “Alhamdulillah” over the attack on Movida Club in Puchong, after IS terrorist Muhammad Wanndy Muhammad Jedi uploaded on the “victory” over the attack, in a Telegram group called “Amanah(phb) vs Pas”.
Bukhori is a member of both “black crow” and “Amanah(phb) vs Pas”. He had used the name “Black Arrow Di”.
In mitigation, Bukhori, who was clad in an orange coloured prison attire, said he supports his young children and asked for the court to order his sentences to run concurrently, with his previous sentences.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Izhanudin Alias pressed for a deterrence sentence, which can serve as a lesson to the accused.
On April 10, 2017, Bukhori, who became the first to be charged under Section 130 of the Penal Code in the country, was jailed seven years by the High Court for allowing his bank account to be used to transfer money for the benefit of the IS terror group.
