Najib returns home after successful trip to improve investment ventures in China

BEIJING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak ended his five-day working visit to China today and left for home after a successful trip to improve investment related ventures for infrastructure development in Malaysia.
Najib and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor had arrived in Beijing for a five-day working visit and attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on May 14 and 15.
Malaysia currently has two projects linked to the Belt and Road Initiative - the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and the Malacca Gateway.
Before arriving in Beijing, the Prime Minister had on May 12, met Jack Ma of the Alibaba Group – one of the largest e-commerce giants in the world – with a view to helping Malaysia develop a digital economy.
In Beijing, the Prime Minister had bilateral meetings with China President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
Najib also witnessed the signing of nine Memorandum of Understanding between Malaysian and Chinese companies involving infrastructure development worth about RM30 billion.
The Prime Minister's visit to China was his ninth since 2009. — Bernama
