LIKES on social media can be harvested to fake ratings and boost clients' online popularity for commercial gains.
There are companies that have paid tens of thousands of dollars to get their products as many likes as possible. These artificial likes are made possible by "click farms" that are thriving in countries such as Russia and China.
A footage has emerged of a giant click farm, which has thousands of phones to boost product ratings with phoney likes. The video was shot by a Russian reporter in an undisclosed location in China.
Two workers can be seen working in the click farm which has 10,000 handsets. Here are lines of the handsets all working on getting through likes to various social media accounts.
