BENTONG: Twenty eight people were fined RM1,500 in default one month's jail by the Magistrate's Court for indecency in a 'stripping game' at a resort near here in January.
Earlier, the youths aged between 19 and 23 pleaded guilty before Magistrate Khairuddin Anhar Mahmud.
They were charged under Section 294 (a) of the Penal Code with public nudity.
The youths had taken part in the 'stripping game' during a motivational camp organised by a private company.
Five of the organisers also pleaded guilty to the indecency charge and were additionally charged under Section 109 of the same act for abetting the crime.
The organisers were fined RM3,000 each and sentenced to a month in jail from Jan 22, the date of their arrest.
In the incident at the Selesa Hillhomes on Jan 21 this year, the youth participants took part in a game known as 'All Out' where they had to form a line using materials on their bodies, which led to them removing their clothes until they were completely naked.
Prior to sentencing today, the prosecuting officer urged the court to impose a harsher penalty, saying the youths had shown disrespect and violated the principles of the Rukun Negara in terms of morality and good behaviour by causing distress to women and children.
