Police classify female senior citizen case as murder

KUALA LUMPUR: Police has classified the death of a woman who was found dead in her house in Block 1, Datuk Ahmad Razali flats, Ampang, on Monday as murder.
Ampang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Hamzah Alias said her death will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
He said police checks in her home found it to be locked, with no signs of forced entry.
"A check of her body also did not find any serious injury," he said when contacted.
Hamzah said the motive of the murder was still being investigated and her body had been sent to the Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem.
On Monday, the victim who was identified as Saliha Sheikh Mohamad, in her 70s, was found dead on the floor of her bathroom, with both her ears cut off.
The victim was believed to have been robbed as the gold necklace and earrings she usually wore were missing when her body was found at about 6pm.
Hamzah said police had called several witnesses to help in the investigation. — Bernama
