GEORGE TOWN: A video of a ride sharing driver kicking a woman passenger has gone viral on social media.
According to the post on Facebook, the incident happened on Tuesday at 7.20am.
Written in the first person, the post said she had hailed for a ride to get from Jalan Perak to a hotel in Jalan McAllister using a ride sharing app.
She said the driver ticked her off for not waiting at the traffic light for him when she got into the car.
The passenger said the driver dropped her off near her destination and not the exact location, which prompted her to ask him why.
"He could answer 'the fare is only RM4 and you want me to send you there' and I said I would report him.
"He got angry and did not let me exit. Only when I started to record him did he allow me out and kicked me in the thigh," she said.
She said she immediately called the ride sharing customer service centre and was told to lodge a police report.
A copy of the report has also been uploaded with the post while the entire post can be viewed here
