JJPTR founder released on bail, handed over to Penang police

PETALING JAYA: JJ Poor to Rich (JJPTR) founder Johnson Lee and two of his aides were released on police bail this afternoon but are not free yet as Penang police officials have taken them in to complete their investigations.
North Klang district police chief ACP Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the trio were released from their custody, but will be handed over to Penang police for further action.
"They were released this afternoon on bail as their remand ended today.
"They will now be handed over to Penang police for them to complete their investigations," he said.
The three men were initially arrested on Tuesday morning and remanded till Thursday.
On Thursday, police requested for a three day remand extension but were only granted an additional day by the courts.
Last Friday, a task force from Bukit Aman's Anti-Money Laundering squad, CCID, Bank Negara, the Companies Commission of Malaysia, Inland Revenue Department, National Revenue Recovery Enforcement Team and Cyber Security raided eight JJPTR premises in Penang.
Among the locations targeted by the task force were offices and residential units.
During raids, 15 JJPTR employees and four investors aged between 23 and 40 had their statements recorded by police.
