TAWAU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) remains loyal to the Barisan Nasional (BN) and will not leave the coalition party for the opposition.
Its acting president, Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili (pix) said talks that PBS would leave BN and join the opposition was nonsense and the party will continue to fight alongside the present government.
"BN is not perfect but it still the best platform to help the people. The party has enough sincerity and good track record of the past.
"PBS wants to fight within BN to improve things that were not so good and to do more things . We have done well," he told reporters here, today.
Ongkili said joining the opposition would not be good for PBS since opposition leaders had held top posts as minister at state or federal and even as Chief Minister of Sabah but still failed to do a good job.
"Who wants to follow these leaders. What did you do when you were in power. What did they do about the illegal immigrants, the MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963).
"Now when jobless, you talk nonsense about the government,"
The Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister said the present government is better and more consistent in helping the people and developing the country. — Bernama
