Penang Zakat Centre personnel released on MACC bail

GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Zakat Centre (ZPP) chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Dr Azman Abdul Samar and its Quality Management Department chief, Mohd Wardi Ramli have been released on a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) bail.
The court order was issued by Magistrate Muna Maria Azmi at 11.30am today.
The duo have been in remand since May 9.
Azman, 50, and Mohd. Wardi, 35, were released on bail of RM20,000 each.
Another three ZPP officers aged 33, 45 and 49-years-old were also released on bail of RM10,000 each.
On Monday, it was reported that the MACC had arrested a total of 15 ZPP officers to facilitate investigations into cases involving the embezzlement of tithe money.
