KUALA KANGSAR: The youths are the core factor that will influence any decision relating to the direction of the country during the era of the National Transformation 2050 (TN50), said Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir (pix).
He said in the TN50 era, the challenges that await would probably be on making changes or maintaining the status quo in various fields.
"At that time, all of you will have to ask yourselves whether you need to maintain the existing system or to make a change.
"This matter cannot be taken lightly and I think all of us, especially the youths, should think (about it) from now on although the TN50 will take another 33 years to materialise," he said in his speech at the TN50 Forum at Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) here last night.
Zambry also said the self-confidence would be an imperative component in ensuring the success of an individual in the global era of TN50.
"The TN50 is also about how you would deal with all sorts of situations at that time. The fundamental of self-confidence must be nurtured from now as the challenges (that might be faced) during the era of TN50 will no longer revolve around, Malaysia but the world," he said.
Meanwhile, Zambry said the establishment of the Aman Jaya Career Centre and the Amanjaya Arts Colony Centre, or better known as People of Remarkable Talents (PORT) which served as the platform for guidance, showed that the state government had heard the voices of the youngsters.
In fact, he said the two centres would be the vital components in helping the government to ensure the success of TN50. — Bernama
