Businessman, unemployed man charged with trafficking drug

GEORGE TOWN: Two men were charged in the Magistrate's Court here today for trafficking 75.6 kg of various types of drugs two weeks ago.
Unemployed Tan Swee Hin, 51, was charged with trafficking 13.9kg of heroin, 20kg of syabu and 37.3kg of ecstasy at Tingkat Paya Terubong 5, Taman Paya Terubong at 10.30am on May 5.
Meanwhile, businessman Tang Chin Tart, 52, was charged with trafficking 2.6kg of heroin and 1.8kg of syabu at Lebuh Sungai Pinang 4 at 10.15pm on May 8.
However, no plea was recorded.
Both of them were charged under Section 39B(1)(A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for a mandatory death sentence, if convicted.
