SHAH ALAM: PKR will be able to uphold Islam better in Kelantan than what the PAS-led administration has been doing now, said the party youth delegate from Kelantan.
Mohd Hafidz Rizal Amran said the Islamic concept being carried out by PKR did not supress any parties and was open to negotiation in resolving any issues.
Commenting on the recent move by PAS to sever its ties with PKR, he said the Islamist party should have discussed the matter first with PKR before coming to a decision.
"In Islam, there should be discussion but they just cut the ties without discussing it first (with PKR)," he said.
"If there were three cornered fights in the next general election, then who's fault is it?" he said during a policy speech debate at PKR youth National Congress at IDCC today.
PAS' decision to sever its political ties had sparked talks of a three cornered fight in the next general election between the party, opposition's Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional.
PAS, despite having no political cooperation with other opposition parties at the national level, continued to maintain its exco position in a coalition government in Selangor.
Mohd Hafidz also lambasted PAS for blaming PKR's defiance to the Act 355 amendment brought by the Islamist party as the reason to cut the ties.
"They accused us of being traitorous when PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had came out with a statement that clearly supported the tabling of the Act 355 bill," he said.
"How can they say we did not give our support? The reason why they ended their ties with us is not right," he added.
