BUKIT MERTAJAM: JJ Poor to Rich (JJPTR) founder Johnson Lee and two of his aides were handed over to the Penang police today.
The trio, represented by their lawyer Jaya Prem Krishnan, were brought by police to the Magistrate's Court at 9.15am and left the court at 11am.
Penang police chief Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye, when contacted by theSun, said Lee and two of his assistants would be produced at the Magistrate's Court at 9am tomorrow for remand.
According to Prem, Lee and his two assistants were brought to the Bukit Mertajam court this morning to seek remand.
However, it is learnt that their names were not on the court's list for remand order, for today.
The trio were arrested in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday (May 16) and remanded by the Klang Magistrate's Court, till yesterday.
On Thursday, police had requested for a three day remand extension but were only granted an additional day by the courts.
Last Friday, a task force from Bukit Aman's Anti-Money Laundering squad, CCID, Bank Negara, the Companies Commission of Malaysia, Inland Revenue Department, National Revenue Recovery Enforcement Team and Cyber Security raided eight JJPTR premises in Penang.
Among the locations targeted by the task force were offices and residential units.
During raids, 15 JJPTR employees and four investors aged between 23 and 40 had their statements recorded by police.
JJPTR came under the spotlight after it claimed losses of RM500 million after its trading account was hacked.
The troubled high yield investment scheme has so far collected a whopping RM1.7 billion so far.
