KUALA LUMPUR: Movie producer David Teo and actor-comedian Sulaiman Yassin will be called in by police over a scuffle at a National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue session.
Although they shook hands in front of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the session last Wednesday, police said they would leave it to the deputy prosecutor to decide whether to take any further action.
City police criminal investigation department chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said police would summon both Teo and Sulaiman soon.
"Both men had not reported to the police since the incident took place," he said after attending the launch of the e-Reporting police report at General Operations Unit headquarters here.
During the dialogue on May 17, movie producer David Teo was reportedly unhappy with the moderator, actor Datuk Rosyam Nor, for not giving all the participants an equal chance to speak with guest-of-honour Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
Actor Sulaiman Yassin, better known as Mat Over, who was allegedly angered at the way Teo was speaking, then walked up to him from the audience and tried to slap him.
The pair were quickly separated by security personnel and escorted out, and the programme continued without anymore incidents.
Sulaiman and Teo were later brought back in at the end of the session and were called to the stage, where they made peace by shaking hands and hugging each other. They also shook hands with Najib.
A video of the incident has since gone viral.
Earlier on Thursday, Teo and Sulaiman said that they had forgiven each other over the incident. Sulaiman called on all Malaysians to move on.
