PETALING JAYA: A road safety video reminding people not to multitask during driving has won Bakri Hafiz Hisham an all new Volkswagen Beetle worth more than RM130,000.
The three minutes video titled "Empat" was selected to be the winner of the PLUS (PLUS Malaysia Berhad) Mufors (Malaysians Unite for Road Safety) Road Reels short video competition.
According to Plus managing director Datuk Azman Ismail, the video contest is a part of the company's strategy to educate and promote road safety, especially during the festive season.
"The usage of short video as a communication medium has become a trend or demand of people nowadays.
"The younger generation nowadays are not only eager to get information but they want the information to be delivered in a simple, creative and appealing manner," Azman said during the price giving ceremony of the competition.
Bakri said the short video is to remind people to stay focussed while driving, even when they think they have a natural gift of "multitasking".
"Multitasking is not something to be taken lightly, even if you think you have more than a pair of hands, especially on the road.
"Be safe, stay safe, and Malaysians unite for road safety," Bakri said.
Chua Xian Jun was selected as the first runner-up for his video entitled "An Open letter to Malaysians".
Chua bagged RM10,000 cash and a trophy.
Chen Wei Choon was selected as the second runner-up for his video entitled "Eggspert Driver" where he won RM8,000 and a trophy.
There were 10 finalists out of 300 over entries.
