Seven Samchem shareholders seek removal of director

    PETALING JAYA: Samchem Holdings Bhd has received a special notice from seven shareholders to remove Ng Soh Kian as a director of the company.
    In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said it will convene the EGM in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2016 and make the necessary announcement in due course.
    The shareholders seeking to remove Ng hold in aggregate 19.8% of the paid-up up capital of the company, carrying the right of voting at meetings of members of the company.
    Ng, who is an executive director of the company, has been disposing of shares since early this month.
    In a separate filing yesterday, the company disclosed that Ng disposed of 1.37 million shares last Friday, reducing his direct interest to 0.413%.
