New VW Beetle, Vento Allstar & Vento GT unveiled

VOLKSWAGEN Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has released the new Beetle, Vento Allstar and Vento GT to the Malaysian market. The three are currently on display at the Mid Valley Megamall until this Sunday.
Erik Winter (pix), VPCM managing director, said that the new offerings are targeted to those wanting to stand out from the crowd. “We not only want to make our cars more accessible to Malaysians, but we also want to give them more options with value added benefits, whilst ensuring that the cars they drive are instant head-turners. With the new Beetle, the Allstar series and the Vento GT, our customers now have an even wider array of products from Volkswagen in time for the upcoming Hari Raya festivities.”
Beetle

Leading the pack is the latest edition of the iconic Beetle. It is priced from RM136,888 and is available in Pure White, Tornado Red, Blue Silk, Dark Bronze, Habanero Orange and White Silver. Updates in the new Beetle include a two-zone Climatronic air-conditioning system, composition media with touch screen display with App-Connect, leather trim “Vienna” seats with front seat lumbar support, bi-xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
Available in “Design” and “Sport” variants, it is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI engine with an output of 103.6hp and 175Nm of torque, and paired with a seven-speed double clutch automatic transmission.
Vento Allstar

This is the second Allstar edition introduced by VPCM, with the first being the Polo Allstar introduced recently. Priced from RM78,888, it is available in Reflex Silver and Candy White. The Vento Allstar comes with RM7,000 worth of exclusive accessories such as leather seats, aluminium sports pedals, rear spoiler, black door strips and trunk garnish, “Allstar” scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats.
A 1.6-litre multi-point injection engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic function, provides the Vento Allstar with an output of 103.6hp, a maximum torque of 153Nm and fuel consumption of 6.5 litres per 100km*.
As an added bonus, the Vento Allstar is equipped with the new MY VW Drive App, which provides added convenience at the driver’s fingertips. With numerous functions that include driving style and fuel consumption tracking, the app enhances the drive with smart capabilities that keep the driver safe and in control, and provide worry-free with insights on the car condition and performance. Additionally, users will also be able to easiy obtain immediate help from Mondial Roadside Assistance in the case of an emergency.
Vento GT

This one is priced from RM89,888 and comes with a total of RM9,000 worth of exclusive accessories such as a “Satin” black roof and exterior mirror wraps, black door strips, leather seats, aluminium sports pedals, GT Aerokit, “GT” scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats. Two colour options are available – Reflex Silver and Candy White.
Like the new Beetle, the Vento GT is powered by a 103.6hp, 1.2-litre turbocharged direct injection TSI engine. The gearbox, too, is a seven-speed automatic transmission. With a maximum torque of 175Nm, the Vento is the saloon with the highest torque in its class. VPCM claims its average fuel consumption is 5.5 litres per 100km**. The Vento 1.2TSI won the "Compact Car of the Year" award at the 2016 Malaysia Car of the Year ceremony last year.
