Senior police officer in Ipoh dies in road accident

IPOH: A senior police officer died after the car he was driving skidded at KM283.3 of the North-South Expressway, southbound, after the South Ipoh Toll Plaza, here early this morning.
In the incident at about 4.45am, DSP Madon Budin, 59, who was the head of the Ipoh Police District Headquarters (IPD) Management Division, died at the scene of the accident due to severe injury.
Deputy Head of the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, DSP Mohd Mahiri Hussin said the victim, who was driving a Toyota Vios, had hit an object that was believed to be the rear of a lorry when arriving at the location of the accident.
"As a result, the victim's vehicle lost control before skidding to the left side of the road and Madon was confirmed to have died at the scene of the accident," he said when contacted here.
The victim's body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for autopsy and the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
It is learnt that the lorry that was believed to have been hit was not at the location after the incident. — Bernama
