RM32 for plate of mixed rice at roadside stall

WOULD you complain if you were charged RM32 for a plate of mixed rice at a roadside stall? A diner found it unpalatable and took to Facebook to complain about the charge by a warung in Chukai, Terengganu.
Syed Ikram uploaded a photo of his meal at Warung Aziz Satar at Kampung Geliga Baru, which shows a plate of rice with a giant freshwater prawn, two pieces of sotong (cuttlefish) and a helping of kangkung (water spinach).
His post went viral. A representative of the stall couldn't stomach the complaint, which she thought was unfair. She said the prices of the dishes were openly displayed at the eatery.
She replied with a breakdown of the price:
Grade A giant freshwater prawn - RM15
Two pieces of cuttlefish- RM14
Rice - RM2
Water spinach - RM1
The viral story was picked up by Harian Metro, who reported stall operator Liza Musid as accusing the complainant of having malicious intent to disrupt her business.
"It's just that I am upset and disappointed about his actions because the price of any food sold in the store is printed on a large banner that is hung on top of the section where customers take their food," the newspaper quoted her as saying.
"The customer appeared to be hiding another piece of sotong beneath the rice on his plate and the size of the grade A giant freshwater prawn looks much smaller in the photo than what it really looks like in real life."
Syed Ikram didn't take kindly to what Liza said. "I have called the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Malaysia and I believe they will take appropriate action on this incident soon," he wrote in his Facebook post.
"I will sue you. I am ashamed because you have defamed me in a news report."
Liza was said to have offered to refund Syed Ikram the money, but he rejected the offer. "I hope that we do business with sincerity so that our businesses will last. I am also a businessman but I always put myself in my customer's shoe so that I will understand what they feel," he wrote to Liza in a chat.
