IN line its aim to promote green living in the city, Sunway Property hosted a series of cycling events under its Race for a Better Planet 2017 community campaign banner.
The developer launched the cycling series in Sunway City Ipoh, and followed up with the second leg of this community event at Sunway Property@ Anson Penang.
The series, which saw its third leg at Sunway Iskandar Johor, drew to a close recently with its final leg at Sunway GEO Avenue in the Klang Valley.
Some 1,200 cyclists took part in the series, partaking in either the Power Ride or Fun Ride. Visitors to the event had a whale of a time besides enjoying riding their bicycles.
They got to learn about recycling, gained tips and useful eco-friendly knowledge from the DIY workshops, and even got to take home Sunquick water bottles and lunch boxes among other “goodies”.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCATE
Sunway Berhad property development division managing director Sarena Cheah as well as the company’s board partners were delighted at the encouraging turnout at its events.
“This year, we are glad to partner with Grab, main sponsors like Sunquick Malaysia, Spritzer, as well as state sponsors like BMW, Brooks, Daiwa House Malaysia, G Cycle, Kangen Water, Mon Chéri, Obike and Walls in encouraging everyone to come together to make this a better living place for our future generations.
“As a Master Community Developer, we will continue our effort in growing a sustainable environment apart from bringing communities closer, whenever and wherever we can,” Cheah said.
TO A GREENER FUTURE
In line with its environmental stance, Sunway Property made a donation of RM50,000 towards Malaysian Environmental NGOs (Mengo) in aid of its environmental initiatives.
The developer, together with sponsors, also presented RM30,000 worth of prizes during the campaign, and will soon be announcing RM12,000 Grab promo code winners via Facebook.
