Build Amazing Cities of Wonders with Lego Malaysia

LEGO Malaysia officially launched their #BuildAmazingMY campaign last Saturday at Pavilion KL. The family friendly and kids oriented is done in conjunction with the school holidays.

#BuildAmazingMy features three main events all promoting the theme of imagination and creativity.

It begins with a host of fun building activities at the Cities of Wonder event in Pavilion KL. From May 25 to Jun 4, the centre court of Pavilion is transformed into a life-sized Lego city based on Lego City and Lego Friends themes.

Kids can register at the city gates and borrow a pair of Lego hand gloves to explore the city with as a Minifigure, and they also can get a Cities of Wonder passport. With the passport in hand, kids can collect stickers as they participate in all the activities and solve challenges through the Cities of Wonder.

These activities include Emma’s Photo Studio where kids get to build a camera out of Lego bricks and Stephanie’s Cupcake Kitchen where kids are challenged to decorate a cupcake using only Lego bricks that they scooped from a bucket.

There is also the Police station where kids need to build a Lego mosaic of the villains they need to catch, and City Jungle where kids learn about animals and nature. There are four jewels hidden throughout the City Jungle and kids will have to find them all before the villains do.

As a part of the #BuildAmazingMy campaign, Lego is hosting the My Own Creation contest on Facebook. From May 22 to June 16, teams of parents and kids can submit their most creative builds showcasing the wonders of Malaysia.

Weekly prizes will be announced on Lego Malaysia’s Facebook channel every Wednesdays. Lego will then host a grand prize-giving ceremony event in Pavilion KL on Saturday, July 1, where the leaders of Lego’s fiercest fan groups will be present to judge the submissions.

The most exciting part of the #BuildAmazingMy campaign must be the launch of Lego’s first Malaysian exclusive creations ever. The four mini builds feature the bunga raya, rumah kampung, wau, and ketupat.

Produced in limited quantities and released every Saturdays from May 27 through to June 17, these mini builds are only available through a minimum purchase of RM300 worth of Lego products.

Each Saturday the first 150 fans at the location of the set launch can get them for a minimum purchase of RM200 worth of Lego products via an exclusive Make and Take activity. After each Saturdays, the Mini Builds will then be available at six stores until it is sold-out.

“This is a historic moment for Lego as we have never developed anything specific to Malaysia before. It does not often happen in Lego history, and we are justly proud at Lego Malaysia to have gotten this past the finish-line. The important thing for us is that these Mini Builds inspire people to continue to explore the wonders of Malaysia through Lego and that you can build pretty much anything with these iconic bricks,” said Jacob Leighton Rennison, Head of Marketing at Lego Malaysia.
