DISCOVER the latest diamond, pearl, emerald and onyx designs to bask in the Côte d'Azur limelight.
For her long-awaited return to the Cannes film festival, US director Sofia Coppola bedazzled with stunning antique pieces by luxury French jeweler Cartier.
Heart-cut platinum diamond studs, a white gold Panthère de Cartier watch (set with 497 brilliant-cut diamonds) and matching statement platinum onyx and diamond bow brooch from 1928, provided the perfect foil for the slick monochrome ensemble from the Chanel Métiers d'Art collection, Coppola wore to the premiere of her film The Beguiled. Coppola shared a red-carpet moment with leading lady Nicole Kidman whose striking diamond chandelier earrings perfectly complemented her flapper-esque Michael Kors gown.
Chinese fashion model Liu Wen made a remarkable entrance wearing a delicate all-white diamond necklace and multi-strand drop earring from Chopard's high jewelry collection.
US screen star and Coppola muse Elle Fanning chose prim cultured pearl earrings and matching choker with a pearl and diamond pendant from the Chanel Fine Jewellery range.
Emerging as one of this year's favorite colored stones - emeralds made a noteworthy return to the spotlight thanks to Cindy Bruna. At amFAR's AIDS fundraiser, the French model wore an on-trend wraparound choker and matching ring, set with emeralds and white diamonds.
Other highlights to come from the amFAR gala were:
Joan Smalls' 'power jewels,' fit for a coronation. The Puerto-Rican model stepped out in majestic necklace/body jewelry that drew attention to her enviable waistline and décolleté.
