Two motorcyclists killed after head-on collision in George Town

GEORGE TOWN: Two motorcyclists killed when their bikes collided head-on on the Lebuhraya Thean Teik, Bandar Baru Farlim here this morning.
Northeast district police chief ACP Anuar Omar said in the 7am incident, two motorcyclists, Pow Chin Huai, 63, and Azri Sulaiman, 26, died at the scene due to severe injuries.
"Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when a Modenas Kriss ridden by Pow, on the way from Air Itam, collided with a motorcycle ridden by Azri, from the opposite direction and the impact had caused both of them to be thrown several metres on the road," he said here today.
He said the two men suffered serious injuries on the head, body and legs and died at the scene and sent to the Penang Hospital for post-mortem.
The crash was being investigated under Section Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the police urged the public or witnesses who saw the accident to come forward to assist with the investigation. — Bernama
