PUTRAJAYA:The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission probe into four board members of a cooperative of a government-linked company (GLC) will be completed soon.
MACC chief commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad said the investigation will end soon and action will be taken against those involved.
"This is an interesting case, and i urge everyone to wait as the time is very near for us to take action, probably in the next few days," Dzulkifli said during a press conference after he distributed some 400 "bubur lambuk" packets to visitors to a Bazaar Ramadan in Precint 3 here today.
On Monday, an English language daily reported that the four board members had allegedly abused their position to not only introduce their own multi-level marketing (MLM) system in the cooperative, but also technically force its members to sign up.
Those who applied for loans would have their applications approved if they signed up for the MLM.
This will cost them RM6,700 and in return, they will get beauty products, supposedly worth that much.
It was reported that the four had been raking in millions of ringgit in the past few years.
On a separate issue, Dzulkifli said the police inspector who was found dead in his office recently is not involved in any of the commission's probes.
"From the information that i received, the incident or the individual has nothing to do with our probe," he said.
On June 1, the 29-year-old inspector at the Pasir Puteh district police headquarters was found dead with a gunshot wound in the forehead.
The victim, who hailed from Selangor, had been transferred to the district police headquarters in February.
Several reports on social media claimed that the inspector was involved with an MACC investigation.
