Nga Kor Ming's accusation wrongly addressed

IPOH: The action by Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming who asked Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir to answer the issue of voter transfer has been described as "wrongly addressed".
According to Perak Umno Liaison deputy chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad, the registration and transfer of voters are done by the Election Commission (EC) and do not involve the Mentri Besar or Barisan Nasional (BN).
"As a political leader, Nga should know the process of registering and transferring of voters is within the constitution and the EC will display the voter register every quarter of the year for any protest," he said in a statement here today.
He was commenting on Nga's call that BN and Zambry explain the transfer of voters in several constituencies in Perak.
Saarani said the division process which was gazetted last year by the EC was in compliance with the law and also contributed to the movement of voters, especially a change in their voting district.
"It involves voters regardless of which party they support and this process was conducted by the EC in its efforts to correct the electoral boundaries. In fact, the DAP had been informed about this matter," he said.
Saarani also advised Nga not to hide when the DAP often hurled accusations towards others to cover their misdeeds. — Bernama
