Stone Master EGM outcome not recognised pending court hearing

PETALING JAYA: Stone Master Corp Bhd managing director Datuk Koh Mui Tee has received a court order to not recognise the outcome of the EGM called by executive director and single largest shareholder Datuk Karen Lee Fong Yin last Tuesday pending a hearing on Wednesday.
The court also restrained Fong Yin, second largest shareholder Datuk Eii Ching Siew, and others from entering or causing any disturbance or disruption at or outside Stone Master’s office at Jalan Klang Lama and its new registered office address at The Gardens South Tower, Mid Valley City; and also restraining them from also threatening, intimidating or disturbing Koh and his staff, directors, agents, servants and representatives, pending the hearing.
Fong Yin had “successfully convened” the EGM last week to remove Koh and executive director Datuk Lee Hwa Cheng, after obtaining a court order. About 91.48% of the shareholders voted for the appointments of Low Eng Tack and Datuk Ng Boon Siong as directors to replace Koh and Hwa Cheng. Five other new directors were also purportedly appointed to Stone Master’s board.
Subsequently, Koh seized important company documents from Stone Master’s head office in Jalan Klang Lama last Thursday, which he claimed was an “emergency action plan” to protect the documents, which are “important evidence” in the legal suits filed against Fong Yin, Eii, and others.
Fong Yin said the company was unable to operate following the incident. Fong Yin was not served any notice of the seizure and said she was locked out of the office where the company documents were held.
