Switched, saved and rewarded

WATSONS new brand campaign recently rewarded lucky VIP card members with a range of prizes that included hotel stays and getaways.

CONTEST DRIVES CAMPAIGN

In 2016, Watsons Malaysia launched a new campaign called “Switch and Save”. The campaign was aimed to encourage its Watsons VIP members and Watsons customers to “switch” or choose Watsons Brand products that offer good quality and value for money’s worth.

During the course of the campaign, a contest called “Switch. Save. Win RM3 Million” was organised to drive the campaign. It ran from Feb 7 to April 10 this year, urging members to spend a minimum of RM30 in a single receipt, to participate.

At the close of the contest, it was learnt that over 35,000 entries were received. Although some Watsons VIP members who registered online were lucky to have won “instant” prizes, 100 were called to attend a grand finale where they had to pit against one another via elimination contests for the top spots. Competitors were put through quizzes, memory and guessing games, puzzles and more.

WINNING BRAND WINNERS

The gruelling challenges brought the competition down to five Watsons VIP members, who won themselves three-day/two-night hotel stays at different locations sponsored by Malaysia Airlines, hutchgo.com and Accor Hotels. The winners were Noor Elaiza (Hong Kong); Siti Farah Abdul Rahman (Shanghai); Nur Azyan Diyanah Azmi (Seoul); Beh Lee Chan (Osaka); and Amirul Aiman Latib (Taipei). “Watsons Brand has been a favourite among its customers in Asia and Europe.

“And in Malaysia, Watsons Brand is equally popular with our shoppers, for its advantage in quality and price,” said Watsons Malaysia general manager Caryn Loh.

Besides the top five grand-prize champs were notable winners: Arena Amir, Gurmit Kaur and Chukwunonso Arah, who won Ogawa massage chairs.

The contest saw many other Watsons VIP members taking home admission tickets, product hampers, meal and drinks vouchers, memberships and more.
