LTH distributes RM60m in tithe for 2016/17

PETALING JAYA: Lembaga Tabung Haji's (TH) tithe distribution to the states for 2016/17 increased to RM60m, up from the RM57m distributed in 2015/2016.
Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah said the distribution was based on the amount deposited by TH account holders from each state, with Selangor being the highest followed by the Federal Territories, Johor and Kedah.
"The distribution was made through the state's respective zakat collection centres," he told reporters at TH's Program Ehsan tithe distribution programme here today.
Johan said TH had also allocated RM975,000 to be distributed through the Program Ehsan to 1,941 hardcore poor nationwide.
"This is part of TH's corporate social responsibility programme in conjunction with Ramadan, to assist single parents, the elderly, the disadvantaged and hardcore poor nationwide," he added.
TH has also been organising the Program Ziarah Kasih Ramadhan Al Mubarak 2017 via the TH Foundation at 50 locations nationwide during Ramadan this year.
