Territorial army should use military knowledge to defend country: Perlis Raja Muda

PADANG BESAR: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has advised the Askar Wataniah (AW) or Territorial Army to make full use of their military knowledge to defend the country from enemy threats.
This knowledge should also be used to protect themselves and the safety of their families, property and society, he said.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also Commander of the 504 AW based in the Bukit Ketri Camp here, was speaking at the 59th anniversary celebrations of the Malaysian Army's AW Regiment at the camp today.
He was welcomed by the 504 Regiment Deputy Commander, Lt-Col Huzaini Hussin. Also present was State Secretary Ahmad Zamri Khairuddin.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said as the second line of defence for the country, the AW had a crucial role in supporting the national defence structural system.
"With skills in mechanical, electrical, medical and information technology, as well as human resource expert administration the AW's responsibility is just as important as the frontliners," he said. — Bernama
