1,000 tithe recipients in Kampar benefit from th's ziarah kasih programme

KAMPAR: Some 1,000 zakat (tithe) recipients comprising the poor, disabled as well as senior citizens residing in the Kampar parliamentary constituency today received donations from the Tabung Haji (TH) Foundation under its 'Ziarah Kasih Ramadan Al-Mubarak 2017' programme.
Tabung Haji chairman, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim said the recipients each received RM300 to alleviate their burden during the fasting month and for preparing for Aidilfitri.
"Kampar is our first destination in Perak and RM300,000 was set aside by the Foundation for the event today.
"Following this, we will travel to seven more destinations in Perak which involved the parliamentary constituencies of Sungai Siput, Teluk Intan, Lumut, Bukit Gantang and Pangkor, " he said in his speech during the event here today.
According to Abdul Azeez, the programme also received contributions totalling RM8 million from UMNO and several corporations. — Bernama
